The Bride’s Cafe

November 28, 2007

I was incredibly flattered when Janie from Janie Medley Floral Design asked to feature Ann & Brent’s wedding on her new online wedding resource blog The Brides Cafe.  The new blog has only been live for just a month and she is already getting such rave reviews!  Even the Wedding Bee {Mrs. Bee} gave Janie a little shout!  Don’t forget to check out Janie’s gorgeous floral creations!   Too bad for us bay area ladies, she’s out of Richmond Virginia!

Thanks again Janie!

This was such a great photo shoot!  So great that it lasted 4 hours!  Karen took full advantage of being a radiant mom to be and had Maria Chang{PMA} do her hair and make-up for the shoot.  Maria being as wonderful as she is, offered her home to Karen (a good client of hers) to use for the shoot.  The house has so many possibilities, it’s crazy.  We definitely had a good time, for the third outfit (naked!) Maria added extensions for a little added coverage.  Karen looks like a beautiful goddess!  I swear, the camera absolutely loved Karen!  Dad to be was also there for a few poses.

Our session was on the 12th of November and Baby Ethan decided he was ready to join us a week later on the 20th!  Two months early!  Mom, Dad and Baby Ethan are doing well.  Congrats guys!!!

Cindy + Joey

November 28, 2007

Cindy, from Bella Notte Events {one of my favorite event coordinators to work with} celebrated her 5 year anniversary by putting her dress back on and having me photograph her and Joey! I was really honored to do so.  I wish I could have followed them to Las Vegas to renew their vows in front of Elvis, but I was already shooting an event that weekend.

Cindy’s dress was AMAZING!!!  Like something I have never seen before, so beautiful!  She had said that she wanted a very vintage feel to the images,  the dress was perfect and she had actually made her own veil!

I hope you enjoy these lady!

Meet Andrea Yung Toth, Executive Designer for Studio ayt.

I was pleased to receive an email from a fellow knottie wanting me to photograph her new Couture Event Stationary.  When I saw her work in person, I was amazed.  She incorporates fine fabrics and sweet embellishments, and incredible design talent to create some really amazing stationary!  Here are a few shots for her new website {coming soon}. I hope I did her work justice :)

Family Portraits

November 28, 2007

With such a full wedding season, I haven’t had much time for Family Portraits but I was able to squeeze in a few.  It’s really fun watching kids and families grow.  It’s funny because a year passes by so quickly, you don’t expect to see much of a difference, but there is!  Kids grow so fast!  It’s amazing to me that I get to photograph these little ones through out so many stages in their lives!

First up is the Christensen Family.   I was so excited when I saw Brady & Bennett running around with their long hair!  Well it wasn’t long, but you know, cute with little wings…  Anyway, I was amazed at how big they were and seeing their personalities grow.  Kate joined the family almost three years ago and she is the cutest little piece of work you ever saw.  The things she says and the way she says it – it’s just hilarious.  I heard her singing the K-I-S-S-I-N-G song to herself and she didnt’ even know the words or the meaning of the song, just the tunes.  It’s so funny how kids are such sponges, she just absorbs so much from her brothers.  And they just adore her, it’s really cute.

Meet Brady, Bennett, and little miss Kate!

Look at her little face!

I thought it would be fun for you guys to see one of Brady & Bennett’s first Jennifer Skog Photo Shoots! Here’s a little Old School Skog!

Next up, the Newman Family. This family is the coolest, the kids are the nicest kids I have ever met. I really hesitate to even call them ‘kids’ because I think of them more as people than kids (if that makes any sense at all!!!). Anyway, we met at their property in Alamo and used the incredible tree and hill landscape that we were surrounded in. As I mentioned, the kids were super cool and willing to do whatever I asked them to. I thought posing them somewhat like a rock band wound be cool, so we played a little. Ultimately my goal was to have them comfortable in front of the camera – it’s true expressions that I aim to capture.

Aren’t they so cute!?!

And lastly, but certainly not the least! The Bonardi Family. I have gotten to photograph this family twice now, and I have loved every minute of it! It’s so fun shooting for a family that goes into it knowing that they aren’t going to get that perfect picture where everyone is perfectly composed, smiling and looking in the camera. It’s so not real life. Debbie ordered a 16×20 print of Luke’s belly! I just love it! and I know it is going to look fabulous on her wall. She mentioned to her that her decorator told her she need more art in her home, so Debbie is putting up her own art – images of her three little loves!

This is the shot she got in a 16×20.  Seriously.  So cute!

Here was their family pic from last year, I just love it!
